Start your day off right.

Psalm 86:1-13 “When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.”
King David endured life-threatening situations all through-out his life, like we all do. But, David made the choice to keep the faith, listen to God and, he kept on trekking. This is the cycle of life…You are continuously presented with ‘tests’ coming from your Upper Power. This is His way of communicating, trying to keep you on His path. Problem is, we get busy. We don’t always ‘hear’ him, we do not always make the best choices. We can always try harder… 🙂
David: “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name”. When the ‘ouch’ passes, keep your faith with God. In fact, like with any healthy relationship, the more struggles you survive, the stronger you become.
Do you want to take a leap of faith and let God do the leading? Will you be willing to be an “A+ student” so you can reap His rewards?
Hope so!
Love,
Lisa

1 Peter 4:7 – 11 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.
We are all unique and all bring ‘different things to the table’, Purposefully, so we can serve each other through the eyes of God. Sometimes we are put in situations where we feel uncomfortable, and, sometimes ask “Why are You doing this to me?” He has his reasons. He is trying to mold and shape us to we can be better for Him and, essentially, others.
It is o.k. to different. Embrace it. Own it. And,…enjoy.
“Thank you, Father, for the great individuality You have built into us. Thank you for my personality and for my abilities. Guide me in using them for You.”

Lisa

Acts 26:9 – 15 The King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
Oh, we’ve all reacted in ways that we can honestly say, “Wow. Maybe I shouldn’t have honked my horn or raised my voice, or, I should have been nicer to that stranger or that someone you didn’t think fit into ‘your world’. Good news is, we all are given the power of personal reflection, and, the opportunity to grow and learn from our experiences that hindered the full potential of God’s connection with you.
So, maybe we could all ‘pretend’ that we are walking side by side with God as we go through our days, and, the next time we feel a sense of rage, anger or any other emotion that would lead us into reacting poorly towards someone, perhaps we just need walk away, count down from ten or say a quick prayer for yourself 😛 or someone. They do work. Repeat.
“Father, forgive us for acting as if You were not present in our moments of need, hurt, anger, or compassion.”
Let us look on the bright side,
Lisa

Psalm 139:17-24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
When our life seems to be spiraling downward, and, we’re feeling a ‘rainbow’ of emotions, that is when we need to put our hands up, surrender, and give your heart to Him. He will present His plans for you, your fears, pride and selfishness. Through these trials and tribulations, He will show his love and forgiveness when you run to Him.
“Gracious Father, I recognize today my desperate need of Your love, wisdom, and grace. Search me and know me. Pour out Your grace and mercy in my life to bring healing to my heart.”
Walk into His arms when you need Him the most and let the worries go bye-bye.
Open arms,
Lisa

2 Timothy 1:1-5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first loved in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice.
Will you leave a legacy of love, respect and faith when you pass? We may not always be able to leave a “monetary inheritance”, but, the former trumps that anyways…by far. Think about all of the opportunities we have to instill our Godly morals and values in those that we love, share a laugh or communicate positively with someone…
“When our lives reflect the reality of God’s love, we leave a lasting legacy for others.”
“Father, may I leave a good spiritual inheritance to my family as You use me to show Your everlasting love.”
Let’s leave love behind,
Lisa

Isaiah 40:9 – 17 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand…?
Do your days go smooth from the moment you wake up to the moment you lie down to sleep? If so, can we meet?! 😛 We all go through our days searching for the right solutions to our problems; we look past the details and try to control every situation. Our plates sometimes feel so full that they are overflowing.
Thank goodness for God when we’re going through these weird times. He will not allow us to tumble and fall. In fact, we can put our faith into practice twofold during these times. “Only His hands are large enough to hold them all. We needn’t try to hold more than the tablespoon He’s designed our hands to carry. When we feel over-whelmed, we can entrust our cares and concerns into His capable hands.
“Help me, Lord, to stop trying to hold everything in my hands, but instead to trust my needs and concerns into Your perfect care.”

Genesis 13:1 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company if you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.
Sometimes, as we go through life, we’re faced with choices that involve another individual(s). We desire things for our own personal interest, but, we sometimes have to let the other person enjoy the moment or the tactile something, because you know it will make the other person happy. Besides, God is walking beside you, and, because you gave, something fulfilling is coming your way.
“Father, Your unfailing love and faithfulness guide us in every choice we make. May our loves speak well of you and honor You today.”
Let’s keep this in mind as we go through our days…
Love,
Lisa

Psalm 34:11 – 18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
There’s times in our lives where something terribly goes wrong with us or someone we love. And, during these times we tend to stray from our Faith, because the questions arise, “Why, God? Do you care about me? Are You even there?” We may even stumble on our words, leaving us speechless.
Do know, that God uses others to speak for us when we can’t say a thing. Prayer sure is powerful.
“The best kind of friend is a praying friend.”
How has God used people to strengthen you when your spirit was crushed?

James 3:3 The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
On the other hand Proverbs 16:24 reminds us, “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
What will your day be like today? Will you be a “bucket filler” or a “bucket dipper”? Will you people’s spirits? Or dim their light?
“Lord, I can always use help with the way I talk. For this day, help me to speak words of hope and encouragement to build up others.”
Have a bright and shiny day,
Lisa

Mark 6:30 – 46 [Jesus] said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
As we walk in our faith with God, it is essential to take time and rest to avoid burnout and discouragement. It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind, the 9-to-5 work day and end up feeling exhausted. Just give yourself a break. Take minutes for yourself everyday. Pray. Lie down. Whatever will give you the physiological benefits from all your hard work. 🙂
“Lord Jesus, thank You for Your example of prayer alone with Your Father. Give us wisdom and determination to make rest a priority as we follow You.”
“Kumbaya, my Lord”…give me the rest I need,
Lisa

Hosea 6:1 – 4 He will come to us like the …spring rains that water the earth.
We will stumble and fall, and, we’ll want to question God. But, have confidence that He is there beside you at all times. Be committed to your relationship with Him, celebrate and be thankful throughout all seasons, through all of your days because He’s doing the same for you. Keep the faith, even in your darkest times. He’ll light a spark. Don’t worry.
“Lord Jesus, You gave Yourself that we might be free. Help us to love You wholeheartedly.”
Oh, yeah. Love,
Lisa
