James 1:1-12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life.
Just like the “white-trunked” aspen tree in Colorado, who’s root system can be shared amongst an entire grove of aspens, and, may or may not produce trees even after thousands of years, and, relies on a natural disaster to grow trees, our faith won’t grow unless we are ‘hit’ with some sort of challenge, devastation, frustration, turmoil, whatever…
Instead of looking at the situation as being awful, let’s consider it to be “pure joy”. God is testing you. He wants to see if you have perseverance and see if you are willing to stay true in your faith despite how “awful” it is.
“Thank you, God, for being with us in our trials, and for helping us to grow through difficult circumstances.”
It’s hump day! We can do this!
