Wow!  Very cool.  Tokyo has developed a robotic leg that partially paralyzed individuals would benefit.  The name is Welwalk WW-1000.  The benefits gained with this therapy, compared to a physical therapist are better, from a medical standpoint, that is.

Patients will use this on a treadmill that holds their weight, and will adjust according to what the computer reads, giving only the bare minimum of help.  After all, it doesn’t want to make it too easy for the patient, prohibiting him/her to progress steadily through rehabilitation.

‘The gadget is designed to be worn on one leg at a time for patients severely paralyzed on one side of the body due to a stroke or other ailments, Eiichi Saito, a medical doctor and executive vice president at Fujita Health University, explained.’
