Do you love pesto?  Do you have a basil plant?  Thinking about getting one?  Well, this recipe was found by my husband.  Apparently this one, in particular, will give you 8 of the 12 foods that you want to eat daily…so, here goes it…

2 cups fresh basil leaves

1/4 cup freshly toasted walnuts

2 cloves fresh garlic

1/4 of a peeled lemon

1/4 teaspoon lemon zest

1/4 inch fresh turmeric root (or 1/4 tsp turmeric powder)

1/4 cup pinto beans

1/4 cup water o liquid from bean can

1 tablespoon white miso

pepper to taste

Combine everything in a food processor or use an immersion blender (my preferred choice) and blend until smooth.  Scoop onto pasta.

And, that’s it, folks.  Simple.  Healthy.  Delicious.
