Do you think one of the keys to living the good life is continually stopping and appreciating all of the beauty that surrounds us?
I’m sure this gets tricky for most of us. Our lives are continuously moving at a rate that’s so speedy, it tends to get away from us. We feel flustered, rushed, stressed, anxious. Sometimes we find ourselves talking about everything that we want in the future, or, wish we had in the present. But, where does this get us?
Let’s think about a time when our electronics were put aside, we were outdoors exploring nature, or, sitting in the living room in awe of our family, or, whatever. Just go back to a time where you felt really happy. What was it about that experience that made it so enjoyable?
Was it the vibrant colors of our flying friends that made your heart smile because of their majestic beauty? Or, was it the memory of welcoming your baby that ‘magically’ grew inside of you, or, when, the moment came, and, you just knew he/she was the one, and, needed to join the family? Whatever beautiful memory it is, weren’t we just now stopping and showing our appreciation of what we have in the here and now?
I don’t know much, but, it seems like appreciation goes a long way. It seems like it slows us down, and, helps to maintain our happiness…in this crazy world in which we live. 😉
I think that is why Papa created such a gorgeous world for us, one with ‘infinite scope and variety’. Isn’t this what really matters?
Let’s remember this: ‘a God wise enough to create me and the world I live in is wise enough to watch out for me. (that’s all of the free beautiful stuff, a.k.a., nature)
