Even the most beautiful beings and things in our lives “tumble and fall”… They disappoint, they get us feeling angry or saddened, hopeless…such as, when our children accidentally spill juice on the carpet, or, the three year old cries over, what we think, is nothing. Or, what about when an appliance breaks that we love so much…love it’s reliability…functionality, the practicality, the aesthetics of it…
These, of course, are just a few examples taken from the plethora of situations that arise that we just don’t like. Going right along with the example above about raising young children…I believe, that we need to just remind ourselves of all of the beauty and love that comes with raising little people, and, remember that these tricky situations that arise are actually happening while parallel with Him. Quite a blessing, really. Or, using the favorite appliance example…let’s think about how much joy came from that appliance…all of the wonderful features that made us fall in love with it, and, all of the memories that were created while using it, or, because it was used…
Fortunately, we have God to help keep us living a balanced life while on this constant- roller-coaster-kind-of-life ride. Don’t our lives constantly have ups and downs, small and big deals? Unlike fresh flowers that wither and die (those “bumber” times), His love, silk flowers, lasts a lifetime.
‘In a world filled with uncertainties and affliction, the opinions of man and even our own feelings are ever-shifting and as limited as our mortality. Still, we can trust God’s unchanging love and character as revealed through His constant and eternally true Word.’
Isaiah 40:1 – 8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.
Here’s to walking parallel!
