Now that I am paying attention to when I have those tendencies of dreaming and wishing, I am making the conscientious effort to bring myself back (when it’s really needed), focus and be present.
The apostle Paul wrote, “The law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”
When our minds are governed by positive energy, a.k.a. the Spirit, we are living, truly living, and, we are at peace.
There’s always going to be more stuff to buy. Better choices that we could have made. But, do those things truly add fulfillment and joy to our lives? Does having a pity party for ourselves get us anywhere? What do our “if only” statements do for us?
We have to stop, and, live in the moment. And, if we do our best and listen, truly listen to Him, then, we can ‘chillax’, do what is only in our control, and, let Papa take the reigns. He’ll let us know if He’s satisfied with our choices. Wonderful happenings will bloom right before our eyes, naturally, leading to “Thank You’s” said out loud.
This is it. This is our one life. Let’s take a moment and think about what we would want to run through our minds when we’re blue hairs (really old). Are we living in the moment, staying on the right paths (to reach our goals) and being blessed with “free fortunes”?
What do we want?
Here’s to living a life of peace,
Lisa
Romans 8:1 – 11 He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
“Lord, You said You came to give us life to the fullest, but so often we have our own agenda and the wrong goals in mind. Please forgive us, and help us desire what You want.”
Amen
