Are you like me, and, feel hesitant to give money to those that are standing on the corner, holding a sign? For whatever your reason? I don’t always give to them. But, my heart goes out to them. And, there have been times when Papa told me to lend a helping hand (because it was the right thing to do).
It wasn’t that long ago that when entering a convenient store did a man that was sitting on the curb, leaning his back against the wall of the store, stop me and ask me for some spare change. I had some cash, but, I lied. I said I didn’t. But, then, he asked if I could get him something to drink. “Sure! What would you like?” His basic needs weren’t being met. I felt in my soul that I was his “angel” at that moment, and, I knew what I needed to do. So, since He touched my heart, and, I felt compelled, I went on a “mini shopping spree” and served the man that was hungry and dehydrated. I think I passed His test. 😉 (whom wouldn’t like a nice cold Coca-Cola, a bag of Doritos, nuts, water, an energy bar, granola bars?)
That’s how I looked at it, anyway (I passed the test). I know that I can’t touch everyone’s heart and be everyone’s angel, but, boy, when moments like this “pop up” and, it feels right, and, we’re able? I say go for it! What about when you are in need of an Angel?
Now, think about all the different ways we can give? And, not just with dollars, but, with our hands, our time, our hearts?
Here’s to wearing the “Good Deeds Hat” more often (speaking to myself, as well!)
Love you, bunches!
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” (v. 17)
James 2:14 – 26 Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
“Lord Jesus Christ, You did the ultimate deed by dying on the cross for me. May I never forget the sacrifice that gives me life.”
