I get it.  As a teacher, especially, we are in the industry where labels are needed for diagnosis, treatment and proper academics.  O.k. so, they have a disability.  And, yes, the modifications are made, yada, yada, yada.

We establish relationships with these kids and, when asked how “Johnny” is doing, we talk about him as a person.  He’s recognized as a nice boy whom works hard, for example.  His documented  “label” information will not be volunteered, unless, of course, it is necessary.

‘God’s grace defies labels because it is rooted in His love, not in our self-perception.’

So, I’m sure we all “beat up overselves” for not doing this, that, or the other, and, I’m sure if God wanted to put a label on all of us, I’m sure he could think of several…a) naive b) ADD c) goofball (to name a few :P)

Anyway!  Wouldn’t a label put on you make you feel almost obligated to “fit the part”, sorta speak.  “Ok! Now, I’d better make sure that I really am a goofball by always acting like a goofball.”  (don’t want to let anyone down, do we?)

“It’s not cool.  Take off the label.  Let me be a multitude of character traits and embrace them all, equally…with hopes of people loving me for me.”

When we are ourselves, truly, we will

‘find

hope

healing

and freedom in Him’

And, this is what Papa loves!…You being yourself.  Period.  And, remember, keeping the lines of communication open and thriving.  We aim to keep him smiling.  He understands that we’re not perfect.  His love is unconditional, so, let’s be obedient!  🙂

Be a ray of sunshine for someone today,

Lisa

P.S.

Additional post coming Tuesday!  🙂

Romans 5:1 – 11     But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing love in Jesus.”
