James, one of Papa’s disciples, once said, “The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all, pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
So, when we are seeking advice, because we are so uncertain the next step we ought to take, it is VITAL to listen to what Papa is telling us…His signs are evident, very clear. When we are experiencing success, joy, feeling stronger than ever, these are Papa’s ways of telling us to keep on doing what we were meant to do. And, every now and again, He likes to throw us those curve balls to see if we have what it takes to overcome the “increase in difficulty in hitting the ball”, but, eventually, if we decide to not give up, we will hit that “ball” dead on, with all of our might and, hit a home run, or, at least, score a point for the team…positively influencing those around us, including ourselves!
Aren’t we so inclined to seek advice from our closest friends and family members? “They know more than me; they have more life experiences; they have more wisdom.” And, while their input can be certainly helpful, it is ultimately up to us to take their “two cents”, put them in a hat, throw in God’s wisdom, and, see if they align. If they do not, then, well, we have a fork in the road, don’t we?
What is so scary about choosing Papa’s plan is the fact that it can feel extremely overwhelming. We are afraid to fail. We are afraid that we won’t get everyone’s approval. We feel sadness because our “original plan” has now been significantly altered.
But, in the end, we have to TRUST. We have to trust the process. Let us continue to seek Papa’s wisdom and, act accordingly. We just may have to surrender and, then say out loud, “Hallelujah! Thank you, God!”
“God, please train my heart to desire wisdom and train my feet to walk in Your ways.”
Proverbs 4:5 – 19 Wisdom is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
